Me and Nep were only 18 when we came ashore the beaches of Da Nang Vietnham... A native nham jumped us. We had full diamond armor, and he had nothing but his fists. Yet he destroyed our camp, burnt our village and decimated our troops. I must've killed him a thousand times, but he just... kept coming back. Relentlessly. It was fucking horrifying.
- A war veteran's description of his experience in Vietnham

The Vietnham War was a conflict between T.B.C. armored forces and the natives in Vietnham. The conflict erupted amidst T.B.C.'s offensive strategies to find Nham Nham.

Though it had significantly superior firepower, T.B.C. lost the conflict and failed to retrieve Nham.

This event took place in the Beta Survival server, with similar circumstances to its Mainlore counterpart.

Prelude to the Vietnham War[]

In 2015, a dead Cakeperson washed up on shore near Reversal City.

T.B.C. launched an investigation into the mysterious dead Cakeperson, as it was a well-known fact they had gone extinct during the Great Cataclysm.

The initial investigation concluded its species was a descendant of Cakepeople, and its corpse had originated from a less-known peninsula across the ocean.

Several T.B.C. Recon teams arriving at the peninsula were met with aggressive hostility, however reports made back to T.B.C. that Nham Nham, Zoo Man's father, was hiding deep within the peninsula's jungle.

An attempt to seize the peninsula, now dubbed Vietnham, began to take shape in hopes to retrieve Nham, who had been missing since 87 B.C..

Events[]

First invasion attempt[]

T.B.C. dispatched a significant portion of its firepower to annex Vietnham. However, the troops were met with vicious drawback from the native Nhams and were quickly repelled.

This marks the start of T.B.C.'s only well-known public defeat. The annexation plan backfired horribly, and several troops were killed in the event.

The army was reportedly unable to make it through the first few meters into the peninsula's shores without getting decimated.

Second invasion attempt[]

Having failed with human troops, T.B.C. dispatched Securitrons to invade Vietnham.

Though the Securitron army could survive the initial blasts and drawbacks from the native nhams, upon entering the vietnhamese jungle they were decimated by well-camouflaged nhams.

Dornan the Securitron led the only surviving battalion. In a Weekly Salt exclusive interview, when asked what he feared most, Dornan replied "I FEAR NOTHING! NOTHING, YOU HEAR ME?! EXCEPT... Vietnham. Everyone fears Vietnham.".

Third invasion attempt[]

VIETNHAM1

The vietnhamese deployed several guerrilla tactics, such as intentional forest fires to kill the offensive forces.

Having both annexation plans failed, T.B.C. dispatches its entire line of Securitrons, Minitrons, FIST-Os, and human troops to Vietnham.

The native nhams initially get seduced by the several hundred FIST-O models, leading to an ambush by T.B.C. forces and hundreds of veitnhamese fatalities.

However, through the extensive use of guerilla tactics, the vietnhamese systematically tear through T.B.C.'s army. Ambushing the human troops and dismantling the Securitrons, the native nhams use psychological horror to tear apart T.B.C.'s offensive strategy.

T.B.C. finally surrenders on September 28th, 2019.

Last sighting of Nham and retreat[]

Nham was last seen on September 27th, 2019. Due to his extensive age (roughly 4000 years at the time), his cognitive abilities had degraded heavily throughout the years.

The last sight of Nham was recorded on body cameras from the troops deployed at Vietnham, whose footage reveals he single-handedly decimated an entire battalion with his bare fists.

Many historians claim this last sighting of Nham caused such a existential horror in the troops, it was one of the motivator factors for T.B.C.'s pull-out of the Vietnham War.

War veterans who witnessed his last counterattack still suffer from Post Bruh Moment Stress Disorder (P.B.M.S.D.), and have to take regular dosages of Reddit Gold to keep their gaming powers.

Controversies[]

Barack Obama's war crimes[]

Weeklysalt

The Weekly Salt's report on the T.B.C. v Obama trial.

T.B.C.'s Vietnham War 47th Battalion Commanding Officer, Barack Hussein Obama committed several war crimes spanning from 2015 to 2019.

Some of his charges included murder, rape, torture and enslavement of vietnhamese children. Obama was wildly shunned by the T.B.C. troops, and once his war crimes escalated to star fraud, his battalion rebelled.

Once T.B.C. took notice of Obama's war crimes, he was immediately dispensed from the war efforts.

He was tried in the T.B.C. A.N.A.L. Court of War Crimes, and was sentenced to 50,000,000 years of Big Chungus Rap Song. He did his sentence in a heavily slowed-down simulation that spanned only 50 seconds in real time.

Obama was then transfered to WorldRP-00001 where he was employed as the T.B.C. Not A Meth Lab Under Our Hotel Hotel receptionist. He was then killed by Donald J. Trump after failing to serve the World RP Participants who had arrived at the hotel.

Agent Annoying Orange controversy[]

AAO Victim

Dornan the Securitron poses with an infected soldier of his battalion (circa 2018).

In its many tactics to overthrow the vietnhamese, T.B.C. deployed a poisonous gas dubbed "Agent Annoying Orange" that made their victims turn into talking oranges.

Several of the T.B.C. troops were unintentionally poisoned with the gas, forcing T.B.C. to develop a vaccine to turn the talking oranges back to humans. However, even after the transformation, many of the Agent Annoying Orange's effects still remained.

One of its many effects on the human body is the development of the Acute Annoying Orange Syndrome (AAO syndrome), causing many of its victims to have several motor and cognitive disabilities as a result of getting exposed to the gas.

Speech impairment has been reported as one of the many effects of the AAO syndrome as well, with many of its victims continuously screaming "Hey apple" non-stop.

Though the effects gradually dissipate, victims still report instances of sudden hallucinations of Nham's face or involuntary exclamations of "Hey apple" years after the conflict.

Legacy[]

The Vietnham war became the only conflict T.B.C. had ever been defeated at. Nham's whereabouts remain mysteriously unknown.

Following the peace treaty between T.B.C. and Vietnham, the native nhams agreed to be catalogued by the T.B.C. Multiversal Entities, Locations and Events Categorized Catalog, known as the M.E.L.E.C. Catalog.

Investigation yielded the native nhams as a subspecies of Cakepeople, evolved from hundreds of years of inbreeding.

It remains unknown how Nham's line of descendants began, but it was clear it continued on through generations of continuous incest.

Trivia[]

  • Due to the failure of the war efforts, it remains unknown where Nham Nham is, how he survived the Great Cataclysm, what he did during the 2000 years after his disappearance, or even how he arrived at Vietnham.
  • The name Vietnham is an amalgamation of the word "Viet" (meaning "find" in Nhamspeak) and "nham".
  • The T.B.C. Minitron was developed for the war efforts, in hopes of being small enough to navigate through the dense jungle. However, the humidity of the climate was enough to make the smaller-sized Securitrons to frequently malfunction.
  • The T.B.C. FIST-O was deployed for its ability to create irresistible sexual urges in its victims.
  • Other major corporations such as OrbCorp and FazDyn did not participate in the war.
  • Mainlore's Barack Obama was taken away from his original Universe as a result of his war crimes, having perished soon after being employed at the T.B.C. Not A Meth Lab Under Our Hotel Hotel in World RP 1.
  • A movie about the conflict, Vietnham: War and Terror, was made by Dwayne "The Redstone Lamp" Johnson, having received mixed reviews.
  • The movie received controversy due to the frequent usage of the word "nhammer", a racial slur against the native nhams.
  • Originally, Faztion Dynamics CEO Faz Thione was supposed to star in the movie, however he was removed from the picture film after some of his nhamphobic T.B.C. Facebook tweets resurfaced.
  • META: The war was based on a real-life conflict in the Beta Survival server. Zoo relentlessly chased Noble and Nepeta, who were both in diamond armor, with his bare fists. While doing so, he frequently lit everything on fire while he walked towards them, inspiring much of the lore written for the Vietnham War.
  • META: Noble and Nepeta's superior firepower being defeated by Zoo's bare fists was also paralleled with the Vietnam War, and initially sparked the idea of the conflict in-lore.
  • META: While chasing both down, Zoo would often do commands such as /home or /spawn, further confusing Noble and Nepeta. This too inspired the idea of several native nhams coming from the trees, where he would usually hide his /sethome locations.
