The Orbital Computing And Applied Robotics Corporation (formally OrbCorp), is an in-lore research company founded by Dr. Emil Orb. The corporation is known for producing super computers (command blocks) and Psychanics (A.I., with the term stemming from psychology and mechanical. Later, after Dr. Orb's death and the Salt-Tec takeover under Ballonz's leadership, the company produces other advanced technology with military uses, such as the GRVATKs and wind tunnels.
OrbCorp is part of the Joint Forces of T.B.C., along Salt-Tec prior to its dissolution. Its main headquarter is located in the OPsy (Orbital Psychanics) R&D facility.
History[]

Orbital was founded in 1982 after Dr. Orb left his position at Salt-Tec. The company began as a command block manufacturer, with AI experimentation beginning as soon as the company got its foot of the ground. It survived the financial crash of 1983 along T.B.C. along with other companies that provided computing services, which boosted its success. The first Psychanic, Eliza, was finished by 1989. Around this time, T.B.C. officially partnered up with OrbCorp, which proved to be a gigantic opportunity for OrbCorp. OrbCorp technology aided in the development of securitrons, and T.B.C. funding helped the company expand its scientific sectors.
After Emil Orb's death in 2018, his psychanic son Ballonz inherited ownership of the company.

There are several Orbital structures scattered across the Minecraft server. The WorldRP map has the Russian OrbCorp headquarters (OrbKorp), and the end map has the OSTS (Orbital Spatial Testing Station), a space vessel designed for unknown purposes. It is currently inaccessible on the server due to structural damage, unfortunately.
Other facilities that are canon to the lore but don't exist in the Minecraft server are yet to be established.

In the Multiverse[]
OrbCorp exists across many universes, much like everything else related to Freddit lores.
Under Dr. Orb's rule, most multiversal OrbCorps never cooperated with each other, unlike T.B.C. This remains the same in the universes where Dr. Orb reaches his goal of immortality. Almost all OrbCorps are funded by their respective universe's T.B.C. however, who may or may not slip them research projects requested by other T.B.C.s from other universes.
Under Ballonz's rule, a multiversal standard was adopted to make psychanics PsyCores from all over the multiverse cross-compatible with each other.
Trivia[]
- OrbCorp is inspired by Portal's Aperture Science and Half Life's Black Mesa. The company and its activities, such as the development of its psychanics and testing, while the facility's mesa location is directly inspired by Black Mesa.
- The term "OrbCorp" was first used in 2015 as a Wasteland vault. It wasn't conceptualized as a research organization until Orb and Psy experimented with end gates and decided to form a research organization around it.
- In most lores, OrbCorp is the go-to company for any subjects related to science. In mainlore, they are only known for the psychanics and various other technologies.
- OrbCorp exists in WorldRP 1 canon under leadership of the German Chancellor's daughter. It's responsible for the creation of Ghire's robotic body upon her death as well as housing the mainframe which would give Maven access to every psychanic on Earth. However, as of now, it does not exist in WorldRP 2.
